Adopting a sphynx could be one of the most rewarding experiences of
your life! These affectionate cats are unlike other cats because they love to be held and cuddled. We usually tell our new
families that their new baby will probably sleep next to them on their first night home. They all sound surprised when they
call the next day to tell us we were right! We like to choose new families that we know will be loving and dedicated to providing
our babies with lots of attention. Sphynx love company. The more the better! They love to play with kids and other animals.
While it may take an older pet a little while to get used to a new sphynx in the house, the sphynx will instantly
want to make friends. And sphynx make great companions for children. They are very patient and never aggressive.
Sphynx are very curious. Before bringing home a new sphynx you
truly have to baby proof your home. They will try to taste new things, such as plants and electrical cords. They like
to climb and will knock perspective "toys" off of shelves or tables. Keep this in mind. They also like to make beds out
of small, warm spaces, such as dryers that are left open or underneath your favorite pillow.
At the time of adoption, all of our sphynx will have had their
shots completed, be spayed or neutered, and come with papers. They are guaranteed to be free of illness at that time, but
we do suggest that you have them checked by your vet within the first week of going home. Unfortunately, some
rare genetic defects occur that are not detected when kittens are very young. If, in the first two years after adoption,
a genetic defect is detected, we will replace that kitten. Sphynx are not more susceptible to illness or defect just because
of the breed or hairlessness!
If you should decide that you want to adopt a sphynx, you will
not be sorry. Give us a call anytime. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have!
